Brief Tour of Switzerland Villages

Let me take you on a brief tour of multiple small counties in Jungfrau region, Switzerland! Basically, I’ll give you some options which place you prefer to spend your retirement. Once you read all choices, kindly let me know. Switzerland public transportation is truly dedicated for tourists as you can see below. Even they provide a cute map of main cities as the background of train’s tables. The illustration of the trains and cable cars are made according to the real colours.

1. Interlaken

Interlaken is a small city situated between 2 lakes: Thun and Brienne. This city can be saw as the starting point to the Swiss Alps vacation. Along the main street, various types of cuisines are easily found. From Swiss Fondue, Turkish Kebab, to Chinese Wok, just name it! But don’t forget to look at the price before make an order. Talking about scenery, where else you’d able to see almost 100% reflection on the river while also staring at the snowing mountains all at once? Easy connection would be another reason to live here, you only need 1-hour to reach Bern, the capital of Switzerland, by super on-time train. So, what do you think about our 1st option?

2. Mürren

Located above the valley of Lauterbrunnen, our 2nd nomination is not necessarily the 2nd best. Mürren offers different sensation over Interlaken, with most area still covered by snow in the spring. Do not worry, you still get exposed by sufficient amount of sunrays.

While you can’t clearly see the massive mountains right in face of you from Interlaken, yes you can do it in Mürren. Since this village is “hanged” on the side of mountains, some aesthetically curved roads are deserved to be captured. Just imagine retiring peacefully in this little village, when only few things to do. Speaking of public transports, Mürren can be reached by a cable car and a train from Lauterbrunnen. Sounds a little bit more complex, but it is easily accessible with departure time of trains are well-matched with tha cable car’s arrival time. Alors, how does it sound for our 2nd option?

3. Wengen

Alongside with Mürren, Wengen is popularly named as the most beautiful village ever exists in Switzerland. Wengen might be a great option for you, who want to live within less-polluted region, since basically this place is car-free. The accesibility is definitely unquestionable in this country, a tourist-designed train is ready to serve you all day long. With big glass window, you can enjoy the scenery at the fullest. Living in Wengen becomes a sweet dream when you realize that you live in a wooden bungalow surrounded by snowy little alleys and hills are hugging you. Who’s up for our 3rd option?

4. Grindelwald

Last but not least, even might be the best, I present to you: Grindelwald. Sounds like the truly epitome of Switzerland’s beauty, Grindelwald charming yet cold vibes is undoubtful. Located right next to the skiing resort, this place is heaven for you who loves to enjoy snow sports.

You can watch people skiing at a pace from a hill where I stood up. In the night, when yellow lights in each house are turned on, what you’d feel is christmas every single day. Wooden house with yellow lamps in a hill covered by white snow and scattered christmas tree all over the place, is the perfect description for Grindelwald. To what extent are you tempted with our 4th option?

Have you made your choice? Don’t say you will buy resorts in all four villages….
